Chicago and Chicagoland has been home to many interesting historic bicycle racing venues.
During the bike craze of 1890s and up to the 1930s, these venues were packed hosting six-day races.
In 1893 Chicago hosted what could be the first world track cycling championship, as well as holding various “Championships of the World” for six-day racing.
Major Taylor raced, set world records and won at many of these venues.
